Neoprene and Rubber: The Materials Behind Our Boots’ Performance
Neoprene Lining
All Merry People gumboots are fully lined with neoprene, the same waterproof material used in wetsuits. Not only is it waterproof, it’s also flexible; neoprene moves with your child’s foot, keeping them comfy and cosy, even after the second (or tenth!) trip to the park!
Lastly, neoprene is naturally insulating, which means toasty toes on cold mornings. Rain or shine, our neoprene lining helps little adventurers stay dry, comfortable, and ready for whatever the day brings.
Natural Rubber
Our gumboots feature an outer made from natural rubber (aka ‘gum rubber’), sourced from the sap of rubber trees. It’s flexible, hard-wearing, and most importantly, 100% waterproof.
Natural rubber also offers excellent traction and grip, perfect for all kinds of adventures. Plus, when properly cared for, it’s more durable than many synthetic alternatives, making it ideal for active play and hand-me-down longevity.
