Returns & Exchanging prerequisites for Merry People Product
Free Australia and NZ Returns | Rest of World Returns at your cost.
You can always exchange or return your Merry People Product order so long as:
The Merry People Products are unworn, undamaged, in re-sellable condition (i.e. no creases or wear on soles), and in their original packaging.
Your return request is submitted within 30 days of receiving your original order.
If you are in a time crunch to receive your exchange size, we recommend you purchase the size you need and return the original pair for a refund rather than doing an exchange.
For Rest of the World International returns, you'll cover the return costs, but we'll ship your exchange for free. (Excluding any duties or taxes that might be associated with the import and delivery of your exchange order)

Preparing and Sending Your Return
Preparing your return
The product must be in its original and new condition.
Put any white card inserts back inside the shoe openings, make sure the tissue paper is still inside the box and include the thank you / take care card inside the box.
Please don’t send the shoe box back by itself (i.e. with postage stickers or writing on the box).
Ensure the shoe box is inside a satchel, carton or wrapped up.
Sending Your Return
Download and print the return label sent to your email. (only available to AU and NZ customers)
*AusPost labels include a QR code that can be scanned rather than printed at your local post office.
Pack the item/s to be returned, including a printout or note with your order number or return reference number (RMA #) and attach the label on a mailer satchel (you can turn the original satchel inside-out and reuse it to help the planet).
Take it to any Australia Post/ New Zealand Post location and send.
You will receive an email as soon as we receive your items, and when your exchange or refund is processed. Your exchange or refund will be processed within 1-3 business days of our warehouse receiving your return.
Please note: During busy periods, processing and delivery may take longer than usual. While we aim to send your exchange within the estimated timeframe, delays with couriers can occur and are outside our control. We work closely with them to get your order to you as quickly as possible.
Purchased From Our Store?
Orders placed on our website can be returned or exchanged at our Manchester Lane store. Likewise, purchases made in-store can also be returned or exchanged through our website.

Returning or Exchanging a Gift
How do returns and exchanges work for gifts?
If you received a Merry People product as a gift and need to exchange it, you can start your exchange request here.
Here’s what you’ll need:
The order number
The purchaser’s email address or postcode
1. Select ‘Returning a Gift?’ and follow the prompts to choose your exchange items and enter your own contact and shipping details.
2. Once our returns team approves your request (1-2 business days), you’ll receive a prepaid return label via email (only for AU and NZ customers).
3. We’ll process your exchange as soon as we receive your returned item.
Please note: We can only process exchanges for products bought directly through the Merry People website and Manchester Lane retail location. Items purchased from independent retailers must be exchanged through the original retailer according to their own exchange/return policies.
Common Exchanges & Returns Issues
I Want to Exchange for a Different Colour, but Don’t See That Option
If you received your boots but the colour isn’t what you expected, and the portal only allows size exchanges, we recommend returning the boots for a refund and placing a new order in your preferred colour.
The Exchange Colour I Want Is Sold Out
If the size or colour you want is sold out, we recommend choosing a different colour for your exchange, or returning the item for a refund and repurchasing your preferred size or colour when it’s back in stock.
Please note that many of our styles are seasonal, so restocks aren’t always immediate. If we’re expecting more stock soon, you’ll see a ‘Join Waitlist’ option on the product page.

2nd Return for Refund – $0 Display
If you're requesting a refund after an exchange that didn’t work out, you might notice the Returns Portal shows a $0.00 refund. Don’t worry—this is normal. The $0 appears because your original order was used as credit for the exchange.
We will process a full refund on your original order once we receive your returned item.

My Return Request Was Rejected
If your return request was rejected after you changed your shipping address or submitted a warranty claim through the portal, it was likely auto-rejected by the system.
Don’t worry, a member of our team will contact you shortly to manually process your request.

Stockist Returns
What to Know About Stockist Returns
The stockists are independent of us, so while they are registered vendors of our product, they aren't affiliated with us beyond stocking our product. This means that any purchase made from them is in accordance with their purchase conditions, and they have their own return and exchange policies, which we have no influence over. We are always here for any warranty issues, but for exchange or return for change of mind, you will have to touch base with the retailer you purchased from and check in with them about their return policy.
