Unlike many thongs or slides, the Lochie comes with adjustable straps that secure across three points on your foot. These features give you maximum adjustability for increased comfort and security while wearing your sandals.

With a strap across the back of your ankle and two more over the tops of your feet, Lochie flat sandals won’t slip or slide off easily. Slides, thongs, and heels usually only have one strap across the top of your foot, making it easy for them to fall off or slide around during the day.

The Lochie is a better choice over slides and flats in events that require more movement–at times when you need the security of the straps, the flexibility of the sole, and the durability of the sandal as a whole. It’s an ideal shoe for active everyday wear, sport events, outdoor activities, and water adventures.

We’ve designed the Lochie to be the ideal all-day-wear sandal. By including a soft neoprene underlay, the Lochie stops any rubbing or irritation in its tracks. 

We also know how easy it is to slip in your sandals during long walks on the beach, sidewalk strolls, and jaunts in the garden. To reduce slippage, we’ve embedded a diamond texture into our Sugarcane EVA footbed that wicks away sweat.

We’ve also used high-quality, sustainable materials including FSC certified natural rubber, recycled PET textiles and a sugarcane EVA footbed to tread softly on the earth.

Lochie sandals can be worn as sport sandals because they have a very low heel and platform, making them feel similar to wearing flats. Lovers of our Tully ankle boot will love the Lochie because it has the same chunky tread design but with a lower heel to give you better durability, grip, and style.

Merry People Sandals are a C width, rather than the B fitting of the Merry People Boots, and fit true to size using European sizing.

The Lochie is one of our most adjustable shoes to date, with three adjustable straps–one around the ankle and two across the tops of your feet. This ensures a more comfortable, accommodating fit for men and women.

If you are uncertain about your foot size, we recommend measuring your foot or the inner sole of a favourite shoe and comparing those measurements to those on our handy size chart, available on our product page.

Gifting Season Extended Returns

If you received a pair of Lochie sandals this holiday season, we will extend the returns window from our usual thirty days. Any orders placed between November to the 24th of December in 2024 will be eligible for an extended returns period of ninety days. If you want a different colour or need a different size, let us know so we can offer an exchange or a full refund on your sandal flats.
