Hi! I’m Dani. I grew up on a dairy farm in Gippsland wearing gumboots. Fast forward to 2014, while working a corporate job, I couldn’t find comfy, stylish, all-weather boots. That inspired me to create Merry People. I hope our boots bring comfort and a little extra joy to your everyday adventures!

This is my 3rd pair of merry people boots and I am completely and utterly obsessed!!! They are so comfortable and waterproof which comes in handy. I have wide flat feet, I also have orthotics. It’s this hard inbetween of needing a secure fit but while not being too tight!
My journey with these boots so far have been:
- they arrived so quickly yay, tried them on and wow they were tighter then I expected. I was sure they were too tight for me and I was going to exchange for the next size up.
- wore them for a bit while I WFH to see how they went, didn’t walk around just sat with them on.
- was still so unsure what I wanted to do but a friend mentioned to wear big socks with them. I also saw reviews that said that they were so comfortable once worn in so I thought I’d give it a little more time.
- the next day I wore them all day while I worked and just around the house but the next day I was planning to do the same but gosh, it felt like the bottom of my shin was bruised where the top of the boots hit/ rubbed. I’ve been trying to wear them for shorter periods daily now to wear them in. And they are definitely becoming more loose or gelling to my feet. It’s been a week or 2 nearly and I do really love them and they are going to be useful for a big camping trip I got them for.
I think some feedback to Merry People would maybe be a little ‘how to break in your boots the Merry way’ card once receiving your boots; with recommendations on slowly wearing them and increase / starting off slow as you can tell they are stiff and ridged from the factory which would be usual for rubber right (Archie’s thongs do a similar…

Excellent boots , I wear them to outdoor concert plus I also mow the lawn with them . I went up the north coast for a outdoor party it was wet and muddy the boots handle the condition without any trouble and the socks were dry
