It’s that exhausting time of year again, where your inbox fills with sale offers, ads in your social feed blast discounts, BOGO reigns supreme, and SALE is the most popular 4-letter word.
But not at Merry People.
Despite retail pressure, as a brand, we are committed to never going on sale — ever. Ten years since starting Merry People, we have never gone on sale, and I’d like to take a moment to explain why.
4 reasons we never go on sale:
1. Fair prices, all year round
Our commitment to you? The lowest possible price all year round. Most retail brands price their products knowing they are going to mark them down at some stage in the season. We design, build, and have priced our products to their true value, and we do not price our products with a margin for sale.
2. Peace of mind, all year round
We think that there is nothing more frustrating than when you buy something and then see it on sale two weeks later! We don’t want our community to feel that buyer's remorse, so we keep it consistent for everyone, year-round.
3. We order with the intention of selling out
We produce the quantities that we think we will sell - and we order with the intention of selling out. While this does mean our products sell out, it also means we do not have any excess stock in the warehouse that we need to dispose of in an urgent flash sale quickly.
4. Avoiding the bargain buy
As a brand, we believe that you should only purchase something if you really, truly love it. We believe in thoughtful purchases (thinking price per wear) and lasting products. We have created all our Merry People products to be high-quality pieces that you can wear season on season, year on year. This longevity is reflected in the price of your boots, clogs or anything you purchase from us, as we know that Merry People products can carry you through many adventures.
At Merry People, we never go on sale!

We hope this gives you some insight into who we are and what we’re all about.
As always, I welcome any questions or comments from our Merry Community. You can send me an email at support@merrypeople.com. I’d love to hear from you.
