Point Lonsdale on the Bellarine Peninsula is truly the best place to raise a family! We are surrounded by an amazing village where everyone knows each other, a beautiful coastline, an abundance of flora and fauna, gorgeous walking tracks and incredible eateries here and in nearby Queenscliff.
Join me as I explore the gorgeous, sleepy-but-vibrant Borough of Queenscliff in my Mixed Berry Lochie Sandals, where pier strolls turn into rockpool splashing and morning coffee meets afternoon ice-cream – with some thrifting in between, of course!
Stop 1: Cold Queenscliff Lattés

Early Nancy’s is my go-to cafe for a coffee and a bite to eat. I first got to know the place in my early 20s, when I worked a few summers here as a waitress — back when it was owned by a friend’s mum. These days, I still love stopping by for a skinny latte over ice and heading out into the sunshine for some ocean air.
Stop 2: Long Lochie Walks

A must for visitors, a walk along the Point Lonsdale Pier brings all the beauty of this place into perspective. It’s so calm, and I can never resist some rockpool rambling to spark my creativity. A stroll up to The Lighthouse is always worth it for the views, while Lovers Walk - in the narrows between Point Lonsdale and Queenscliff - makes for a lovely detour on another day, surrounded by gorgeous flora that always inspires new design ideas.
Stop 3: Great Reads and Retro Finds

There is always something going on in nearby Hesse Street, the main street of Queenscliff. I always make my first stop at Queenscliff Bookshop, one of the best in the world, in my opinion! As a graphic designer, I'm also a sucker for a good book cover design, too, so it takes me a while to choose between crime fiction and happy-ever-after! Once I’ve got my next read, it’s off to do some thrifting at Vintage & Collectibles on Hesse, which has some incredibly rare, fun finds. There, I get lost for a few hours before popping into Frankie Say Relax to check out the cutest gifts and kids finds.
Stop 4: Lunch With A View

After a morning exploring, lunch calls! And where better to enjoy a gorgeous lunch with lovely staff whilst watching the ferry take off across the blue sea than Tarra Queenscliff. The best staff and yummy food, it’s a gorgeous space to round out the perfect, sunny day. After a delicious ice cream, it’s back to the canvas, feeling inspired and grateful!
The best bit? No sore feet! My Lochie Sandals have got me through another day of exploring Queenscliff in comfort and colour!
