Our Story

Hi! I’m Dani. I grew up on a farm in Gippsland wearing gumboots. Fast forward to 2014, while working a corporate job, I couldn’t find comfy, stylish, all-weather boots. That inspired me to create Merry People. I hope our boots bring comfort and a little extra joy to your everyday adventures!

We wanted to create a boot that was a step up from our Bobbi gumboot, with increased height coverage, increased functionality for wet and muddy conditions, suitability for different calf sizes - whilst also maintaining versatility so that you can wear from morning to night, city to country as an everyday fashion boot.

Sizing Recommendations

We recommend the inner sole of the Darcy boot be around the same length as your foot. The neoprene lining around your foot will soften over time.

The Darcy boot runs true to size. We suggest you go with your standard shoe size (don't order bigger for socks.) If you wear thick socks, then measure your foot wearing the thicker socks.

If you are half size then size down, the boots should be slightly snug to start as the natural rubber will soften with wear.
