This year, we’re proud to return for our fourth year as a major sponsor of the not-for-profit Mother’s Day Classic (MDC).
Together with the MDC team, we’ve created two limited-edition Bobbi Boots in Bright Aqua and Sunset Coral, representing ovarian and breast cancer. For every pair sold, 20% will be donated to the Ovarian Cancer Research Foundation and the National Breast Cancer Foundation.
These two diseases continue to impact thousands of Australians every year.
To better understand why this support matters, here are some key facts about breast and ovarian cancer:
Here's What You Should Know About Breast and Ovarian Cancer

Breast Cancer in Australia
1. Breast cancer is the second most commonly diagnosed cancer in Australia and the most common among females.
2. 56 Australians are diagnosed with breast cancer every day.
3. Since 1994, the five-year survival rate for breast cancer has increased from 76% to 93%.
4. The five-year survival rate for metastatic stage IV breast cancer is much lower at 32%.
Ovarian Cancer in Australia
5. Around 1,815 Australians are diagnosed with ovarian cancer each year, and approximately 1,000 lives are lost each year.
6. Only 49% of those diagnosed with ovarian cancer will survive five years from diagnosis.
7. There is no early detection test for ovarian cancer — a pap/cervical smear does not detect ovarian cancer.
8. The cause of most ovarian cancer cases remains unknown. Due to the vagueness of symptoms and lack of an early detection test, around 70% of cases are diagnosed when the cancer is in the advanced stages, where it has often already spread to other parts of the body.
While these statistics highlight the challenges ahead, they also underline why continued awareness, funding, and research are so important.
Together, We Can Make A Difference

“We want to see a future where fewer families are impacted by these diseases, and ultimately, a day where there is a cure for both breast and ovarian cancer.” — Dani, Merry People's Founder & CEO
Over the past four years, partnering with the Mother’s Day Classic, we’ve helped raise over $200,000 for critical cancer research — funding better treatments, earlier detection, and improved outcomes for thousands of Australians.
But there’s still so much more to be done.
And importantly, progress hasn’t been equal across both cancers.
In Australia, sustained support has driven meaningful advances in breast cancer research, improving detection, treatment, and survival outcomes. However, progress in ovarian cancer has been more limited, highlighting the urgent need for continued research and funding.
This is why every pair purchased helps move us closer to better outcomes for both breast and ovarian cancer — and why your support matters more than ever.
